Electrum is a lightweight and secure Bitcoin wallet that allows you to store and manage your cryptocurrency keys. This guide will help you download, install, and secure your wallet.

The desktop verision will store the wallet files in this address:

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets

That is why it is a good idea to protect them with a password.Note: The AppData folder or equivalent is not visible, you have to enable view hidden files, or get to it directly with the Terminal.

The Portable or "stand alone" version will save the wallet files in the same directory where the executable
is running. This may be useful if you want to use Electrum in a public computer, so you can delete all files after you finish.
